It’s a 20 day campaign aimed at raising awareness on GBV in the community and raising funds for GVRC and a Gender Based Violence Recovery Centre (GBVRC) at the Eldama Ravine Sub County Referral Hospital.
GVRC has partnered with Solian Athletic Club based in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County who through athletics, raise awareness on issues affecting the community such as discouraging cattle rustling and FGM. Kipchoge Kirui Kurui, one of the athletes at Solian Athletic Club is an ultra-marathon runner renowned for pioneering the Loruk Peace run in 2017. He will take on the Ultra Marathon challenge to cover #1000steps4Baringo and run for 20 days to cover 1000kms. The route has been mapped out to cover religious institutions, community centers and markets where community members will be rallied at each stop and sensitization carried out.

The marathon has been flagged off today, November 18, 2019 at Kabarnet Museum Grounds will culminate on December 7, 2019 at the Eldama Ravine Sub County Referral Hospital.
