We were glad to host the recently appointed Permanent Secretary, Min. of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, Zeinab W. Hussein at our Adams unit on February 16, 2016. Hon. Zeinab was hosted by the Nairobi Women’s Hospital Group CEO – Dr. Sam Thenya and the Executive Director – Alberta Wambua where they gave her a tour of the facility and demonstrated the flow of a survivor when receiving clinical services as well as therapy. She expressed interest in improving access to healthcare for survivors of violence and highlighted on the need to escalate efforts to address elimination of all forms of violence. GVRC has been in active partnership with the Ministry, taking part in various GBV technical working groups such as the 16 Days of Activism 2015 national celebrations.
GVRC is committed to working closely with the Government of Kenya in ensuring best practices in response to and management of gender based violence.
